Hey Everyone,

It has truly been a long time. I hope that everyone have survived this last traumatic month and are both safe and back to normal.

For this month’s cigar gathering, I would like to introduce you to a new location. Bar Greenland Roppongi. Details are below, but it is a very exciting bar, which opened in Roppongi in March, with a great atmosphere and friendly staff.

This Friday from 7:30, a 1000 yen entrance fee gets your all-you-can-drink until 11 pm. Therefore forget your troubles and woes and join your Cigar Society Friends in the VIP section.

They don’t sell cigars yet, so please bring a cigar with you, or procure and extra from a friend. I’ll try to bring a few extras;-)

From 11pm until the wee hours of the morning we are invited to a special dance and drinking party at Bar Matrix, so it should be both a relaxing, intoxicating, and absolutely fantastic night!

Happy New Year Everyone!

Sorry for the long hiatus, but I hope to make it all up to you through the events and services lined up for this year!

To kick off the new year we will have a dinner party for Friday, January 21st, from 8 pm to 10 pm at Cohiba Atmosphere in Nishi Azabu. We will have a free drink and buffet menu, along with a complimentary cigar for everyone who attends.

As many of you know, one of the roles of our club is to let people know about shops, bars, and restaurants which are cigar friendly. If any of you have a bar you think would be an enjoyable place for other members, can you please let me know. I would like to post the location and information on our site.

The Partagas Serie P No. 2 is, simply put, an excellent cigar for the money. What you have to remember when you smoke a Serie P No. 2 is that it is massed produced. On top of that, recent demand, has meant that even more are coming out of the factory. Logic tells you that this should affect quality, but 99% of the time, your Serie P will have a flawless wrapper, smooth draw, and excellent flavor.

A bit of a strong cigar for the beginner, as it is a rich and full bodied Habanos, it is usually recommended to beginners because it introduces them to one of the best cigars available at a very affordable price.

A well kept No 2 will have a light sheen on the surface. This is the natural oils which were released from the leaf and have dried to the surface. This will dry into a white powder with a musty smell of stored tobacco. This should let you know that you are smoking a well kept, premium cigar. Be ready for a good smoke.

As you smoke the cigar, you may not consider the cigar rich or particularly robust. This is because the Serie P is a smooth cigar. Its flavor will build as you smoke. The first 5 minutes, just enjoy the smoky aroma and flavor. The flavor will strengthen as you work down the cigar. Be careful, for the smooth flavor may cause you to smoke it a bit too fast. Just smoke it slowly and enjoy the flavor and feel of your cigar. Also smoking the cigar too fast may cause you to get a little light-headed and take from your experience.

Slow, pleasant, fragrant, and rich, that is a Serie P No 2.

Hello Everyone,

First of all, it is an open restaurant and bar that is Cigar Smoker-Friendly. This means that in the middle of dinner you can whip out a cigar and begin smoking at your leisure.

I am not the type of person to interrupt dinner with cigar smoke, but the restaurant and bar takes pride in the fact you can smoke there, that you don’t feel as if you are bothering anyone.

The environment is relaxing, in that the bar and restaurant is done up in browns and dark reds. However it is so popular that you should expect a crowded and loud atmosphere. Seating at the bar is a bit cramped, but the bar staff are friendly, the drinks excellent, and the prices very affordable.

The view from the bar of Tokyo is enough to keep you distracted, and if you can get a seat outside, please try to do so. I will try next time!

I have not eaten there, but I can say that the drinks and ambiance were enjoyable, but not for a relaxing smoke, but more so for quick conversation and drink after work!

With the Don Duarte Robusto, you notice from the moment you remove it from the wrapper the essence of chocolate; a deep cocoa scent that is attractive to the nose and palette.

The cigar itself smokes very smoothly, with no trace of chocolate, but a smooth oak flavor that goes well with Bourbon, or salted almonds.

It burns evenly, for the most part, with a take that is smooth, but not too easy.  It is definitely a cigar that benefits from a high humidity.  A bit dry and the take would be too loose.

The cigar is a bit tricky as it is light and easy to smoke and the high it provides sneaks up on you very suddenly.  Therefore, if you are planning to do any type of work during or after your smoke, it is a cigar that should be smoked without the aid of alcohol (have some spicy ginger ale if you have it), or should be enjoyed in the evening with whiskey, rum, or bourbon, when there is nothing else to do but sit back and relax.
